McKenna's Dream Comes True

Last fall McKenna watched a lot of ice skating. She even decided she wanted to be a professional skater! The only problem: she hadn't ever skated! When we went to Utah, Kenna was able to try out the ice at Seven Peaks in Provo. She wrote: "When I went ice skaing I was not very good but before we left I was doing spinny things and other things like the pros do."

Hot Dog Shacks and Covid 2019: Weathering the Storm

When I was two years old, my parents moved from Cortland, NY, to Stony Creek, a tiny little town that literally dead ended into the Adirondack Mountains . This was a homecoming of sorts: Done with college and a brief career as a USAF officer, my dad was moving his little family back to the east coast, to the sprawling but tiny hamlet in upstate New York where his family had spent vacations when he was a teenager growing up in New Jersey.  My parents arrived in Stony Creek with few possessions; they were mostly packed into an old,  green Ford van. Problem is, things don't go too smoothly...specifically bedtime. It. Takes. Forever.!! Corbin was overtired today (translation: extra wild, getting more wound up by the minute), and he took too long to settle. Of course I was also trying to read to Isaac and get he & Kenna settled. I guess I'm ready for a quicker nightly routine...But wait, somewhere in my motherhood contract I must've signed on the dotted line underneath "I agree to be kind, loving, patient, tolerant, and Christlike under any and all...
