Jared's Family, Far Far Away in Washington

Jared's brother Jon and his wife Maritza just had their first baby. (Jon was 11 when we were married. Time flies.) I love the excitement of a first baby, and watching that happen in someone else's life is just sweetness. Sorry, I realize you don't all know them, but read on anyway. I stole this post from Jade, one of my sis-in-law. Her husband, Josh, lived with us several years ago and is definately on our favorites list, as are most of our family members! (Josh is pictured in the "proud uncle" photo and again at the end of the post with Aleeah and his little guy, Max.) Jared and I are blessed to have the relatives we do. And yes, sharing Maritza's post-hospital pictures makes me glad I didn't blog when my kids were born. Passing my picture around would NOT qualify as a First Amendment right. Here's what Jade had to say about the big event: Jon and Maritza welcomed their little bundle of joy on July 15th and she is CUTE! I had to post about her. Baby Aleeah weighed in at 8lbs 9oz and is 21 inches long! She is going to be tall. Mom, Dad and baby are doing great and we can't wait to see them again. Cute little family. Proud Uncle. Do you just love her hair? Plus look at Max in the back. Yea, that pretty much sums up what he wanted to do the whole time. Find anything to climb, throw or destroy. When we went to visit them in the hospital, Max was crazy. He wanted to go and explore. But when he saw me hold her he thought he needed a turn too. So he went and sat down on the chair and waved his hands like okay my turn. He LOVED holding her and did pretty good. It made me nervous beyond belief but Jon and Josh thought it was okay. Max was excited to meet his cousin too.
Aleeah had the hiccups and so Max would giggle everytime she would hiccup. Jon and Maritza are great parents already. Oh and the #20 means that Aleeah is the twentieth grandchild in Josh's family. Can you believe that? Sally and Doug have 20 grandkids from 7 of their 10 kids. It seems like ever since I have known Josh someone has been pregnant. Who is next?

This week I attended trek in Wyoming and had a great experience. I was able to meet a few new friends while experiencing a little bit of what the pioneers endured on their journey. I wasn't bothered by the walking, which made the rest of the experience easy to enjoy. I had a cool family, with the keys being the  parents (the Mackeys).  This is me with Kaylea, a girl from my family. Last night   was probably the best night of my life. Christmas 2016 thru Summer 2017

With my parents when they visited in 2017. A picture of me on a ride.  I haven't blogged for a very long time, so here's a recap of the last 22 months. December 2016: We went to Washington for Christmas. The kids weren't all sure they wanted to walk away from their lives for nine days, but everyone ended up having a great time. At the time, Caleb was a senior and was dating Allie, and it had been a difficult 6-9 months with him as we tried to navigate through that situation. Taylor had been to BYU- Idaho for an entire year, but had transferred to Ft. Collins and was midway through her first year at Front Range Community College. So we had some different dynamics at play than we had previously. We arrived on Christmas Eve afternoon and stayed about a week. Everyone was begging to stay longer.
