I Looove the Holidays!
All week long: padres here, cooking, cleaning painting.
House warm, neat, and cozy when I get home.
Work getting done on the new house. Treated to Pizza Hut.
Soon it will end. NO fun!
Really, I feel extremely blessed. I am grateful for the parents I have. They love me. THey watch over us. They pray for us. They are interested in us. They have spent many, many weeks and months here and they have developed a great relationship with their grandkids. My kids all love them and look forward to having them around.
When my parents come to visit, they come to work. I don't know that they've ever come expecting a vacation. (Which is good. I doubt they've ever had one while viiting us! Sure, our lives were a little more relaxed when we were able to just sit back and watch the kids play all day. But even then, they had to deal with less-than-ideal accommodations in our busy home. Their bed was on the couch and breakfast was on the run! Twelve years ago we started putting them up in a room with a door that closes and locks--but more often than not, some little person knocks on their door very early, demanding to see their sleepy faces. Yah, it's a party, and they come prepared.
They have been here seven days. They have painted 4 rooms in our our house, made 3 or 4 meals, folded a few baskets of laundry, and just been here to support us. We'll miss them when they are gone.
