We usually try to do something fun as a family during Spring Break, especially because Jared's busy season begins a few weeks later. The kids have really started to look forward to this time (and offer lots of opinions about what we should do). The tradition began in 2006, when Isaac was just 2 1/2 and was crazy about trains. That year we stayed at the Drury Inn in Centennial. We went to the Butterfly Museum, where the kids each held Rosie, a Tarantula, and learned about turtles, a rainforest ecosystem, and various sea creatures. We also went to Casa Bonita (we were disappointed) and to the Boulder Train Museum. The following year we stayed in Fort Collins and went shopping for spring clothes and attended a hockey game. In 2008 our spring break trip was forfeited because we went to Washington for Josh & Jade's sealing in February, but last year we resumed the tradition with a day at the Denver Auqarium and dinner at the Olive Garden. This year we tried Fort Fun in Fort Collins. Here are some pictures of us enjoying the day. Taylor and Corbin Caleb on the go-karts. Isaac liked the bumper cars. He and Jared and Taylor had "wars" on them. Jared told me I was the slowest driver on the course! I was going to correct that problem, but we stayed so busy trying everything that I didn't have the chance. Jared and the kids trying the giant slide. Corbin loved it! We ended our day with dinner at Chili's, where I actually ate steak (fajitas) and loved them. Everyone liked their homemade chips, too. One more fun spring break memeory for us!

    Sorry the kids had to give up their 2008 Spring Break adventure but I'm glad you guys could come up. It looks like you had a great time. Enjoy spring!

This week I attended trek in Wyoming and had a great experience. I was able to meet a few new friends while experiencing a little bit of what the pioneers endured on their journey. I wasn't bothered by the walking, which made the rest of the experience easy to enjoy. Christmas 2016 thru Summer 2017

With my parents when they visited in 2017. A picture of me on a ride.  I haven't blogged for a very long time, so here's a recap of the last 22 months. December 2016: We went to Washington for Christmas. The kids weren't all sure they wanted to walk away from their lives for nine days, but everyone ended up having a great time. At the time, Caleb was a senior and was dating Allie, and it had been a difficult 6-9 months with him as we tried to navigate through that situation. Taylor had been to BYU- Idaho for an entire year, but had transferred to Ft. Collins and was midway through her first year at Front Range Community College. So we had some different dynamics at play than we had previously. We arrived on Christmas Eve afternoon and stayed about a week. Everyone was begging to stay longer.
